Frederick County

Formed in 1748 from Prince George's County. Progeny Counties: Montgomery (1776), Washington 1776, Allegany (1779), Carroll, 1837, Garrett (1872). A large part of the actual settlers of the land were Palatines from Germany who migrated from Pennsylvania.
