Ashley County Ashley was formed in 1848 from Chicot, Union and Drew Counties. The county seat is Hamburg.
Benton County Benton County was formed in 1836 from Washington county. The county seat is Bentonville.
Boone County Boone County was formed in 1869 from Carroll and Madison Counties. The county seat is Harrison.
Bradley County Bradley County was formed on December 18, 1840 from a portion of Union County comprised of what is now Bradley County, and the greater portion of present day Ashley, Drew, Lincoln, Dallas, Calhoun, and Cleveland Counties. During the period 1845 to 1873, Dallas, Drew, Ashley, Calhoun, Lincoln, and Cleveland Counties had been detached from Bradley County and formed into new, separate counties.
Carroll County Carroll County was formed in 1833 from Izard county. The county seat is Berryville.
Cleburne County Cleburne County was formed in 1883 from White, Van Buren and Independence Counties. The county seat is Heber Springs.
Cleveland County Cleveland County was formed in 1873 from Dallas, Bradley, Jefferson and Lincoln Counties.
Conway County Conway County was formed in 1825 from Pulaski County. The county seat is Morrilton.
Crawford County Crawford County was formed in 1820 from Pulaski County. The county seat is Van Buren.
Dallas County Dallas County was formed in 1845 from Clarke and Bradley Counties. The county seat is Fordyce.
Faulkner County Faulkner County was formed in 1873 from Pulaski and Conway Counties. The county seat is Conway.
Franklin County Franklin County was formed in 1837 from Crawford county. The county seat is Ozark.
Grant County Grant County was formed in 1869 from Jefferson, Hot Spring and Saline Counties. The county seat is Sheridan. Prior to to beginning of Grant County in 1869 (see Grant County History), the area was composed of 3 neighboring counties. Jefferson, Saline, and Hot Springs.

Hot Spring County Hot Spring County was formed in 1829 from Clark County. The county seat is Malvern.
Jefferson County Jefferson County was formed in 1829 from Arkansas and Pulaski Counties. The county seat is Pine Bluff.
Johnson County Johnson County was formed 1833 from Pope County. The county seat is Clarksville.
Lincoln County Lincoln County was formed in 1871 from Arkansas, Bradley, Desha, Drew and Jefferson Counties. The county seat is Star City.
