November 1924 in Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas. He
married Margaret Ann 'Annie' Arnold on 9 September 1906 in Arnold
Home, Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Benjamin and
Harriett Arnold. She was born 4 February 1886 in
Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas, and died 27 April 1979 in
Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas. After the death of his father
he retained his portion of the family farm in Spadra and
continued farming. Lee and Margaret are buried in Kendall
Cemetery, Johnson County, Arkansas.

Lillian Susan Allen [929] was
born 31 October 1882 in Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas and
died 7 November 1977 in Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma. Lillian went to
Fayetteville, Arkansas to get her education. When she left home she kept her
share of her father's land in Hartman, Arkansas but when the Arkansas River dams
were built she had to sell to the government. She and her sister Annie settled
in Stigler, Oklahoma. She moved to Stigler with her mother, brother Augustus and
great aunt Mary Gilliam about 1917. The lived near the parents of Richard Coker.
Annie opened an abstract office in Stigler. She
married Richard Carol Cocker on 17 January 1923 in Muskogee,
Oklahoma. He was born 12 August 1887 in Cherokee County, Texas, the
son of Richard and Mary C. Cocker and died 10 September 1945 in
Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma. This was Richards second marriage. In 1917
when he registered for the World War I draft he was an insurance salesman in
Stigler, Haskell County, Oklahoma. His parents, Richard and Mary Coker, are buried in Stigler
Cemetery, Stigler, Haskell County, Oklahoma. Lillian and Richard moved to
Stillwater, Oklahoma and opened an abstract office of there own.. Late in life Lillian claimed that she
owned the first typewriter in Oklahoma and was the first women to hold public
office in Oklahoma. In her later years her sisters Annie and Alice moved in with
her in
Stillwater. Lillian and Annie died in Stillwater and Alice moved to
Harrison, Arkansas to live with her son Joe until she died. Lillian and Richard
are buried in Fairlawn Cemetery, Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma.

May Allen [931] was born 3
November 1884, Johnson County, Arkansas and died 15 March 1947.
She married John R. Perdue on 14 December 1907 in
Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas. John was a farm laborer and later a
open-pit coal miner. They lived for a while in
Russellville, Pope County, Arkansas then moved to Heavener, Le Flore County, Oklahoma.
Eventually they returned to Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas. They are
buried in Shady Grove Cemetery, Johnson County, Arkansas.

Anna Lou 'Annie' Allen [930] was
born 22 January 1886 in Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas. In 1910 she lived at
home with her mother. She
married Adolph B. Shropshire, son of Joseph and Susan Shropshire, before October 1913. He was an
Choctaw Indian from Oklahoma, reputed to be a charismatic flim/flam man
who got into trouble with other women and such. In 1918 he was an insurance
salesman in Stigler, Haskell County, Oklahoma. In 1920 they lived on North
Third Street in Stigler. The marriage
ended in divorce sometime after 1920. They had no children and she never remarried. Annie opened an abstract
office in Stigler, Haskell County, Oklahoma and did quite well.
Later in life she moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma to live with her
sisters Lillian and Alice. There she died after on 16 January 1975
and is buried in Fairlawn Cemetery, Stillwater, Payne County,
Oklahoma. Adolph died on 23 November 1955 in Santa Barbara, California.

Seth Howell Allen [3045]
was born 1 April
1890 in Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas, and died 16 July 1949
in Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas. He married Jewell Juita Bell, daughter of G. Richard Bell and S. C. 'Kate' Cox, in Nevada, Vernon County, Missouri. She was born 16 August 1895
in Salus, Johnson County, Arkansas, and died 17 August 1936 in Fort Smith,
Sebastian County, Arkansas. After the death of his father Seth retained his
portion of the family farm in Spadra and continued farming. They lived in
Hartman, Johnson County Arkansas most of their lives. They are both buried at
Kendall Cemetery, Johnson County, Arkansas.

7. Alice
Eula 'Manona' Allen
[3046]
was born 3 July 1892 in
Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas. She married Gomer Edward Kraus
on 4 May 1916 in Johnson County. He was born 4 July 1890 in
Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas, the son of Edward Joseph Kraus and
Gwennie Evans.
Around 1910 Gomer played professional baseball. By all accounts he was a very
good pitcher. Gomer owned and operated an architectural and construction firm in
Clarksville, Arkansas and was responsible for many of the large building
projects in western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. He ran this business from a
custom one room office building he constructed behind his house, complete with
built-in drafting tables, blueprint storage and fireplace. He donated a portion
of his land to the City of Clarksville for the construction of a new road. In
turn, the city named the new road "Kraus Street". When Alice's first grandchild,
Paula, was learning to speak she called Alice 'Manona.' Alice liked that and insisted that all her
grandchildren call her Manona. Gomer died 29 July 1950 in
Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas. Alice continued to live
alone in their home until the early 1970's when she moved in with
her two older sisters Lillian and Annie in Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma. When her sisters passed
away, she moved to Harrison, Boone County, Arkansas to live with
her son Joe. She died there on 25 December 1979. Alice and Gomer are both
buried in the Kraus plot in Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville,

Alice Allen very
pleasantly entertained in honor of her cousin, Miss Cherry Kendall at the home
of Mrs. Rogers on College Hill. Games of various kinds were enjoyed throughout
the evening, also a 'beheading' contest was puzzled over. The most lucky beheaders proved to be Miss Fleta Thompson and Mr. Roscoe McPherson who
received a box of delicious candy. At a late hour the guests were invited to
the dining room where refreshments were served. The guests were Misses Rillie
Lasar, Maxie Covington, Fleta Thompson, Jane Everett Morns, Cherry Kendall,
Claudie Allen and Alma Ross, Messrs. Rogers McKennon, King Basham, Orville
Arrington, Odus Wilkinson, Denver Misenheimer and Roscoe McPherson.

Augustus Kendall 'Gus' Allen [933] was born 31 March 1895 in
Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas, and died in October 1963. In 1910 he lived at
home with his mother in Johnson County. Between 1910 and 1920 he moved with his
mother, sister Lillian and great aunt Mary Gilliam to Stigler, Haskell County,
Oklahoma. He
married Evorah B. Smith in Arkansas. She was born 19 August 1899 in
Tennessee, and died December 1987
in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. They lived initially lived in Van Buren, Crawford County,
Arkansas but moved to Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan about 1923. They
stayed there only a couple of years before moving on to Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. They later lived in Almont, Lapeer County, Michigan.
Gus and Evora are both buried in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy, Oakland
County, Michigan.
