ACORD [1001] was born 1 July 1881
in Dutton, Madison County, Arkansas, and died 6 June 1922 in Shamrock, Wheeler
County, Texas. She married THOMAS JEFFERSON ISAACS on 12 October 1900 in
Dutton, Madison County, Arkansas. He was born 16 September 1875 in McKee,
Jackson County, Kentucky, and died 19 March 1947 in Shamrock, Wheeler County,
Texas. They settled in Franklin County, Arkansas. About 1917 they moved to
Shamrock, Wheeler County, Texas. Sarah died due to complication with childbirth
in May 1922 leaving Thomas with nine children. He almost immediately returned to
Johnson County, Arkansas and remarried to Sarah's second cousin
Ethel Mariah Sizemore, daughter of
Ephraim P. Sizemore and Louvicy Ann Acord on 26 November 1923 and brought her
back to Shamrock.

where Arthur took up farming and stock raising. In 1943 they moved to McAlester
where they remained the rest of their lives. Both are buried in Oak Hill

SIDNEY BARNES 'TED' ACORD

Oklahoma, and died 16 February 1990 in Ozark, Franklin County, Arkansas. He
married CORA HESTER PIPPIN
on 23 November 1919 in Franklin County, Arkansas, daughter of ED PIPPIN and
JANICE BUCKNER. She was born 2 January 1899 in Ozark, Franklin County, Arkansas,
and died 26 March 1975 in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas. Sidney served
in the US Army during World War I.

Mrs. Hester Acord, 76 of Route 3, Ozark, died Wednesday, March 26 at
8 p.m. at St. Edwards hospital after an extended period of failing health.
Born January 12, 1899, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of Ed and
Janice Buckner Pippin. She was a member of Webb City Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, S. B. (Ted); four sons, Eric, Vurl, and
Paul, all of Ozark, and Hadley of Oklahoma City; a sister, Mrs. Lillie McElroy
of Ozark; two brothers, Foise and Arvil Pippin, both of Ozark; 11 grandchildren
and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Webb City Baptist Church,
with Rev. Walter Yarbrough officiating assisted by Rev. Bill Kuykendall. Burial
was at Cemetery Ridge by Greer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Paul L., Gary, Sidney H., Bobby, Jim, and Tim
Acord.

Sidney B. "Ted" Acord, 94, of Ozark, died Friday, Feb. 16, 1990, at Turner
Memorial Hospital. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, a member of Webb City
Baptist Church, an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the American
Legion.
Son of the late Columbus and Mary Williams Acord, he was born April 27,
1895, in Custer County, Okla. Mr. Acord was preceded in death by his wife, the
former Hester Pippin.
Survivors include four sons, Hadley Acord of Oklahoma City and Erick,
Vurl and Paul F. Acord, all of Ozark; 11 grandchildren and 17
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Shaffer Funeral Home
Chapel, with Rev. Roy Gean Law officiating. Burial was at Cemetery Ridge
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim, Sidney, Steve, Bobby, Gary Lee and Tim Acord.
Honorary pallbearers were Charley Blevins, Houston Beck, D. C. Harris, Aaron
Bond, Chester McElhaney, Pat Patterson, Rufus Lessley, Foise Pippin, Bill
Dewett, Lonnie Dicks and J. T. Keith.

Leonard Acord, 82, of Fort Smith, died Friday
in a Fort Smith hospital. A retired bricklayer and native of Ozark, he was born
Oct. 22 1902, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Columbus Acord.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlese Baker and Tonya White, both of
Fort Smith; two sons, Billy of St. Louis and Clyde of Denver; a brother, Ted
Acord of Ozark; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Graveside service were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Pilot Grove cemetery with
Rev Cliff Ahart officiating. Arrangements were by Edwards Funeral Home.
