in Arkansas. She married William C. Harden on 11 February 1897 in Yale, Johnson
County, Arkansas, son of Daniel and Francis Harden. He was born 6 April 1873 in
Ohio, and died 13 September 1912 in Batson, Johnson County, Arkansas.

Monday the 9th, Mr. Will Hardin happened to a terrible accident which caused his
death. He was in the timber working and cut a large tree down and it caught on a
tree and turned. It caught Mr. Hardin's foot and leg crushing them in the
ground. Blood poison set up and Friday the 13th death claimed him and ended his
suffering. What a sad wife and dear little children are left to mourn for a
fathers love.

6. William Gordon 'Doc/Doak' Acord
[2992] was born 15 February 1886 in Friley, Johnson County, Arkansas, and died 4 February 1950 in
Yale, Johnson County, Arkansas. He married Olevia M. Russell, daughter of
John Russell and Mariah Turner, on 3 February 1912
in Johnson County, Arkansas. She was
born May 1893 in Arkansas, and died 27 June 1950 in Pettigrew, Johnson County,
Arkansas. After his father died in 1918, William moved his family into his
mother's home so he could help her on the farm, while his wife helped her in the
house with the care of the invalid Samuel Marty Acord. The Yale Community
Masonic Lodge gave financial help, since William Albert Acord had been a Mason.
He bought a car for cash in 1936. However sold it soon, because, as he said "it
costs a dollar every time it moves". When he went to Clarksville to pay his
taxes he rode his horse and took along a bag of corn to feed the horse on the
two-day trip. William is buried at Yale Cemetery, Yale, Johnson County,
Arkansas.

Mrs. Olevia M. Acord, 58, died Tuesday, August 15 at her home in
Pettigrew.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, pending arrival of relatives. The
Cox funeral home is in charge.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Thula Stamps and Mrs. Billie
Vanover of Brawley, California; four sons, Buford Acord, Strag, Oklahoma, Otty
Acord, Harmony, Roscoe Acord, Pettigrew and Fred Acord, Brawley, California; 15
grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Susie Hardin, Bristow, California.

Johnson County, Arkansas. She was
born about 1887 in Ohio, and died 1 March 1935 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Ed was
a farmer. In June 1917 they lived in Dickerson Township, Johnson County. Edwin is buried in Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California and Nina
is buried in Middleton Chapel Cemetery, Muskogee County, Oklahoma.

Arkansas. She was born 3 June 1903 in Arkansas and died 8 March 1993. Clarence
registered for the World War I Draft on 2 June 1917 in Johnson County, Arkansas.
At the time his home was in Yale but he was working as a far hand on the farm of
W. C. Hatten in Beattie, Marshall County, Kansas. He was described as of medium
height and build with gray eyes and black hair and was crippled in both hands.
In 1930 he worked as a yard man in an oil refining plant in Boynton, Muskogee
County, Oklahoma.

Hill were those present. At 11 a.m. the party broke up and all enjoyed fine
music by Miss Thualr Acord and brothers. Then all broke candy after which they
returned home hoping to have another occasion like this soon.
