Children of John Franklin Kraus and Daisy Gilbert

 

1. Frank Raymond Kraus [13034] was born 23 December 1891 in Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas, and died 20 June 1971 in Buna, Jasper County, Texas. He married Bessie Lee Harper about 1916 in Arkansas. She was born 25 February 1898 in Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas, and died 14 November 1988 in Jasper County, Texas. In 1917 they lived in Ozone, Johnson County, Arkansas where he was farming. In his World War I draft registration he is described as medium height and slender build with brown eyes, black hair and one bad eye. In 1920 Frank worked as a laborer in a lumber yard in Merryville, Beaureguard Parish, Louisiana. In 1930 they lived in Live Oak County, Texas. In 1971 they lived in Buna, Jasper County, Texas where Frank and presumably Bessie are buried.

2. Herbert William Kraus [12482] was born 4 July 1894 in Arkansas, and died 9 June 1969 in Woodville, Tyler County, Texas. He married Dicie Ann Payne on 1 August 1915 in Texas, daughter of Jeff Payne and Laura Priest. She was born 10 April 1899 in Texas, and died 13 October 1977 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas. Herbert worked as a railroad locomotive engineer for Kirby Lumber Company in Jasper County, Texas in 1917. He registered for the World War I draft in Jasper County, Texas and stated objections on religious beliefs.

Daugharty, June 1938, Texas; son of Bryant E. and Ella Daugharty; born 1 May 1914, Newton County, Texas, died 1 April 1989, Point Neches, Jefferson County, Texas. Burial: Point Neches, Jefferson County, Texas.

  3. Dudley Eugene Kraus, born 7 October 1919, Johnson County, Arkansas; died 23 October 1924, Johnson County, Arkansas. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas.

  4. Lyndal Jane 'Janie' Kraus, born 24 February 1921, Browndell, Jasper County, Texas; died 24 October 1992, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas; married Donald 'Don' Whitt, 30 November 1957, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; born 16 November 1919, Arkansas. 4. Mary A. Kraus [13035] was born about 1899 in Arkansas and died in Arkansas or Oklahoma. She married Clayburn Williams. He died in Arkansas or Oklahoma. They lived in Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma for many years.
