Kimbrell Claude
Hill [2888] was born 6 January 1818 in Perry
County, Tennessee, and died 3 March 1901 in Yale, Johnson County, Arkansas. He
married Amanda 'Mandy' Jones on 11 March 1840 in Johnson County, Arkansas, daughter
of Francis and Sarah Jones. She was born December 1822 in Tennessee, and died
03 December 1908 in Johnson County, Arkansas. Kimbrell came to Arkansas from
Tennessee with his parents between 1846 and 1840. He homesteaded 40 acres of
land west of his father in Johnson County. He purchased his father's land after
the death of his stepmother. Kimbrell was a good manager and in 1884 he owned all the
land in the valley of Little and Big Mulberry Rivers and hundreds of acres of
timber land on the surrounding mountains. He was well known for his contributions to the community.
He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War, enlisting at Clarksville
in Carroll's Regiment
Arkansas Cavalry in 31 May 1862 for three years. At that time Amanda was
pregnant with their twelfth child, Ambrose. Kimbrell's son William C., age 19, was shot and killed by
bushwhackers at the family home in1864. Kimbrell and Amanda are buried in Yale
Cemetery, Johnson County, Arkansas. His grave marker is inscribed "Kimbrell Hill Born Jan 6 1818 Died March 3 1901
Married Amanda Jones March 11 1840 Served in Gordon's Brig. 2 Ark Garrette Co. D
in war of 1861. 'C.H. Davis of Co, K. My horse was killed and fell on me,
Kimbrell Hill taken him off in Price Rade [sic] at New Toney In. in 1864' "

Martha Jane Hill, born 08 January 1841 in Yale,
Johnson County, Arkansas; died 29 March 1926.
Sarah Ann Hill, born 1843 in Johnson County, Arkansas; died after 1870.
William C. Hill, born 1845 in Johnson County, Arkansas; died
1864 in Johnson County, Arkansas. He was shot and killed by bushwackers at the family
home 1864. He had just volunteered for service in the Confederate
Cavalry, and he had a nice horse which he was taking to the service with
him. The murderers took the horse. This was witnessed by Angeline Hill
Taylor and Martha J. Hill Dickerson his sisters. He never married.
Francis Marion Hill, born
about 1846 in Johnson County, Arkansas; died 1861 during the Civil War. Never
married.
John N. Hill, born about 1847 in Arkansas.
Zerelda Angeline Hill, born 29 November 1849 in Arkansas;
died 29 December 1914 in Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas.
- Eliza Hill, born 08 April 1852 in Johnson County, Arkansas;
died 25 August 1890 in Coal Hill, Johnson County, Arkansas. She married
James Monroe Bench 25 November 1869; born about 1844 in Arkansas; died
after 1893. Eliza is buried in Kendal Cemetery, Johnson County,
Arkansas.
- Lavania Louise Alice Hill, born about 1853 in Arkansas. She married
Henry Bench.
Albert Hill, born April 1854 in Arkansas; died March 1933
in Keo, Arkansas.
- Henry Hill, born 1859. Died in infancy.
Mary Emeline Hill, born about 1860 in Johnson County, Arkansas.
Ambrose Warren Hill, born 14 August 1862 in Mulberry
Township, Johnson County, Arkansas; died 03 December 1947 in Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.

Eliza Jones is in question. She was listed in the 1860 census dated 24
June 1860.

Sion Hill
[2889] was born about 1819 in Perry County, Tennessee.
He married Sarah Needham about 1839 in Johnson County, Arkansas. She was
born about 1822 in Tennessee. They moved to Franklin County, Arkansas with his
father before 1840 and on to Sebastian County, Arkansas by 1860.
Children of Sion Hill and Sarah Needham are:
- William K. Hill, born 02 February 1840 in Johnson
County, Arkansas; died about 1875. On 10 July 1844 he purchased 80 acres
of land in Johnson County, Arkansas (Section 29 10N 23W). His last will and
testament was probated in 1875 in Johnson County.
John C. Hill, born 1843 in
Johnson County, Arkansas. He served the CSA during Civil War enlisting as a
Private in Company C, First Arkansas Mounted Rifles in on 2 November 1861 Clarksville, Johnson
County. He was subsequently promoted to the rank of
Lieutenant.
- Mike Hill, born 1844 in Johnson County, Arkansas.
Needham Hill, born 1847 in Johnson County, Arkansas.
Needham enlisted in the Union 2nd Arkansas Infantry Regiment on 13 February 1864 but
deserted two weeks later on 21 Feb 1864 in Franklin County, Arkansas.

John Fry Hill
[2897] was born August 1821 in Perry County,
Tennessee and died 3 February 1882 in Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas.
John served in the Mexican War. He married 1) Hannah Bradshaw about 1847.
She was born in 1826 in Ohio and died in 1850 in Clarksville, Johnson County,
Arkansas. He was a tailor and merchant in Clarksville. He married 2) Mary Emeline T.
Cruthers on 21 August 1852. She was born 10 August 1822 in New York. On 29 October 1861 he
John enlisted at Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas in Company E, 16th
Arkansas Infantry Regiment , CSA as a Captain for one year. By 4
December 1861 he was promoted to Colonel. He was a Grand Master of the Arkansas
Masonic Lodge in 1873. In 1879 he was elected State Senator for Johnson County,
Arkansas. The Mason's erected a tall monument for him in
Oakland Cemetery, Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas.

Joseph Hill
[2891] was born 9 January 1822 in Perry County, Tennessee, and
died September 1864 in Johnson County, Arkansas. He married
Emeline Jones
on
19 June 1842 in Johnson County, Arkansas, daughter of Francis and Sarah Jones.
She was born 26 January 1829 in Blount County, Alabama, and died 15 July 1860 in
Yale, Johnson County, Arkansas. On 1 Feb 1860 Joseph bought 40 acres of land in
Johnson County (Section 10 12N 25W). Joseph was killed during the Civil War. He
and Emeline are buried in Kendall Cemetery, Johnson County, Arkansas.

Kimbirad 'Kimbrell' Hill, born about 1843 in Johnson County,
Arkansas. He married Susan Dickerson 14 August 1859 in Johnson County,
Arkansas; born about 1843 in Tennessee and died 1877 in Johnson County,
Arkansas. Kimbriad served the CSA during the
Civil War enlisting as a Private in Company D, Fourth Arkansas Calvary on 31
May 1862. He was present through February 1864.
Jasper Hill, born September 1844 in Friley, Johnson County,
Arkansas; died 1900 in Oklahoma. He married Clesica Farmer; born about
1835 in Arkansas. He enlisted as a Private in Company D, 4th Arkansas Cavalry,
CSA on 1 December 1863 in Clarksville and mustered out on 28 March 1864 in
Little Rock. On 18 April 1890 Jasper purchased 80 acres of land in
Johnson County (Section 3 12N 25W). He was a farmer.
George Washington Hill, born about 1848 in Friley, Johnson
County, Arkansas. He married Juanita [last name unknown]; born about
1845 in Arkansas. He served the CSA during the Civil War enlisting in Company
K, Fourth Arkansas Regiment. He was report Absent/Sick at Elk Horn, left in
Arkansas.

County, Arkansas; died 1901.
Christopher Columbus Hill, born 10 January 1851 in Friley,
Johnson County, Arkansas; died 05 February 1936 in Rocky, Washita

[820] was born about 1823. He married Zilpha
[last name unknown]. She was born about 1826.
Children of James Hill and Zilpha are:
- Easther Hill, born about 1844.

Research Note. This researcher is not sure that Mark is James' father, though the birth date dovetails nicely
with John and they lived next door to one another in Johnson County, Arkansas. There
was also a Jane Hill b. abt. 1785 in James' household in 1850. She is a
contemporary of Mark (Mark's sister?). A James M. Hill served in Second Arkansas Union Infantry during the Civil War
along with a George T., Henry B. L. and Needham (HILL, JAMES M. - PVT - 13 Oct 1863 Ft. Smith, AR - TX - age 31).

Marcus Hill
[2892] was born 4 July 1826 in Perry County, Tennessee, and died
23 December 1895 in Yale, Johnson County, Arkansas. He married (1)
Eliza
Jones in 1849 in Johnson County, Arkansas, daughter of Francis and Sarah Jones. She was born 1826 in Blount County, Alabama, and died 15 July 1860 in Yale,
Johnson County, Arkansas. He married (2) Louissa Melissa Thompson on 3
February 1861 in Johnson County, Arkansas. She was born about 1842, and died
before 1864. He married (3) Susan Davis on 10 August 1864 in Coal Hill, Johnson
County, Arkansas. She was born 1842 in Franklin County, Arkansas, and died 4
November 1915 in Yale, Johnson County, Arkansas. Marcus owned the first powered grist mill in Mulberry Valley, a steam powered
cotton gin and an saw mill. During the Civil War he helped Luvina Stewart hide a Seth Clock, feather beds, pillows, and wool
bed spreads by hiding them in hollow trees and logs on the mountainside around
their house. Marcus and Susan are buried in Yale Cemetery, Yale, Johnson County,
Arkansas. His will was probated on 22 December 1895 in Johnson County, Arkansas.
