Idris Evans2. Idris William Evans [1915] was born 20 October 1871, and died 17 December 1938. He married (1) Martha Eaton Walker in Dood City, Fannin County, Texas. She was born 26 March 1869, and died 29 September 1930. He married (2) Mary Coleman. She was born 26 June 1892, and died May 1987 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas. The name Idris is of Welsh origin. Idris Gawr was a legendary figure from around the seventh century, who has given his name to Cader Idris (Idris's Fort), a mountain in Merioneth. Idris attended school at Grayson College in Whiteworth, Grayson County, Texas. He later taught school at Orangeville, Texas then in Leonard, Fannin County in 1899. By 1902 he was the superintendent of schools for Fannin County in Leonard. In 1930 he was a vice president of a bank in Bonham. Idris and Martha are buried in Willow Wild Cemetery, Bonham, Fannin County, Texas.

  1. Florence Idris Evans, born 13 August 1898, Texas; died 30 April 1993, in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas. She was a public school teacher. Never married.

  2. + Kenneth Alvis Evans, born 22 September 1902; died 12 January 1983; m. Helen Hansard Ford; born 26 January 1903; died 2 December 1987.

Gwennie Evans3. Gwennie Evans [1916] was born June 1875 in Ohio and died 1958 in Eastland, Eastland County, Texas. She married John Enon Collins, son of LeFloy and Mary Collins, about 1900. He was born in March 1880 in Gorman, Eastland County, Texas and died 4 November 1969 in Eastland County. When they married John was a Telegraph Operator and they were boarders in the home of James Crenshaw in Fannin County. In 1910 he worked as a telephone agent for the telephone company in Carbon, Eastland County, Texas. In 1920 John was a Telephone Agent and in 1920 he worked as a book keeper in a bank in Gorman, Eastland County, Texas. At the time of her father's death in 1922 they lived in Buffalo, Harper County, Oklahoma. By 1930 they returned to Eastland County, Texas. The name Gwennie is a derivative of the Welsh adjective Gwynne with the English meaning white. After Gwennie's father's death her mother came to live with them and died in their home in 1931.

4. Gomer Dave Evans [1917] was born about 1877 in Ohio and married Flora Blanche Hughs. She was born about 1882 in Texas. Between 1902 and 1907 they moved to Hugo, Choctaw County, Oklahoma where Gomer worked in a lumberyard. The name Gomer is of Welsh origin. In Welsh legend, Gomer is the grandson of Noah and progenitor of the Welsh people.

  3. Annie Frances Evans, born about 1907 in Choctaw County, Oklahoma, married Louis 'Louie' Wilson Woosley, son of Clarence Woolesey and Albertine Wilson; born 11 November 1909 in Texas, died 4 September 1966 in Dallas County, Texas, buried in Burns Cemetery, Fannin County, Texas.
