Luther was an auto painter at Earl Auto Works in Los Angeles in 1917 and was still an auto painter in 1930. Luther registered for the WWI draft on 15 June 1917 in Los Angeles.

He married Geneva Legan about 1924, born 21 August 1903, Missouri, died 5 August 1993, Los Angeles, California.
