December 1904, near Aldrich, Polk County, Missouri. She married
AMZI
A. DAVISON on 7 August 1850, Fair Play, Polk County,
Missouri. He was born about 1832 and died about 1863 in the Civil War. According to their oldest son, William Henry Davison Amzi left their farm near
Fair Play to go to Bolivar to join the Missouri Home Guards. (The Missouri
Legislature had voted to go with the South and the Missouri Home Guards were
Union sympathizers who went to seize the county courthouses.)
Amzi was wounded at the courthouse in Bolivar and died about two weeks later.
Louisa is listed on the Polk County Rebel List in spite of the fact her husband
was killed in service to the Union. The surviving Akard men apparently were
Confederate and Louisa Jane was under suspicion. She and the family survived on
a pension from the Union Army service of her husband Amzi Davison. They are both
buried in the Akard Cemetery on the south side of Fair Play, Polk, Missouri.
