Children of Cavalier Horner and Jane Crosby
1. Coleman Smith Horner
[5824] was born 17 September 1809 in Bent Creek,
Jefferson County, Tennessee, and died 1 July 1843 in Gibson City,
Tennessee. He married Mahala Catherine Harris in 1832 in Hawkins
County, Tennessee. She was born 4 December 1816 in Hawkins County,
Tennessee, and died 13 August 1850 in Hopel, Gibson County, Tennessee. In
the 1820's Coleman migrated to Madison then Gibson counties in Tennessee.
Coleman was a surveyor, having learned that trade from his father and
grandfather.
Children of Coleman Horner and Mahala Harris are:

James Elbert Horner, born 1 May 1833, Hope Hill, Gibson County,
Tennessee; died 6 March 1904, Bogata, Red River County, Texas; married 1)
Nancy Catherine McCulloch, 17 June 1856 in Hempstead County, Arkansas; born 8
July 1838, Itawamba County, Mississippi; died 6 September 1876, Bogata,
Red River County, Texas. He then married 2) Sally [last name unknown].
Thomas Jasper
Horner, born 1835; died 7 April 1862, Shiloh, Hardin
County, Tennessee while serving the CSA during the Civil War.
- William Lambert Horner, born 21 February 1838, Tennessee; died 10
January 1881, Florida; married Martha Ellen Jackson, 10 January 1861; born
1845; died 1922. They had three children.
- Martha Jane Horner, born 22 June 1840, Gibson County, Tennessee; died 12
July 1920; married William M. Beard, 26 November 1865.
- Christopher C. Horner, born 8 December 1842, Hope, Gibson County,
Tennessee; died 4 March 1846, Hope, Gibson County, Tennessee.

William D. Horner
[5836] was born 1815 in Russellville, Hamblin County,
Tennessee, and died 15 September 1845 in Jefferson County, Tennessee. He
married Lavenia R. Robertson in 1831 in Cedar Creek, Hawkins
Tennessee. She was born 1816.
Children of William Horner and Lavenia Robertson are:
- Kaleb T. Horner, born 1834; married Catherine Hale, 25 September 1852,
Jefferson County, Tennessee. Had three children.
- + William Richard Horner, born 11 October 1834, Hamblin County,
Tennessee; died 3 March 1899; married Elizabeth Lane; born 11 March 1838; died 25
May 1916. Both buried in Bent Creek Cemetery, Hamblen County, Arkansas.
- Nancy Jane Horner, born 25 August 1836, Hamblin County, Tennessee; died
18 June 1894; married 1) Samuel A. Dyer; married 2) David Rhea; born
29 August 1834; died 31 October 1896. Nancy and David are buried in Bent
Creek Cemetery, Hamblen County, Tennessee.

5. Elbert Horner
[5840] was born 1817 in Jefferson County, Tennessee.
He married Mary Jane Shepard on 9 March 1843 in Grainger County,
Tennessee. Elbert is buried in
Bent Creek Cemetery, Hamblen County,
Tennessee.
Child of Elbert Horner and Mary Shepard is:
- Lewis Horner, died about 1905. He was killed by a train at a
Whitesburg, Hamblen County, Tennessee crossing. He is buried in Bent
Creek Cemetery, Hamblen County, Tennessee.
