John Fry Hill (1821-1822) son of Mark Hill and Rachel Fry is a veteran of the Mexican War. He also served the Confederacy during the Civil War in Company E of the 16th Arkansas Infantry. He enlisted as a Captain on 29 October 1861 and was promoted to the rank of Colonel on 4 December 1861.
