093   Cornelius Achor Males < 16 = 4 Jonas       (1792)
Joseph     (c1793)
John        (1797)
Cornelius (1800)
- - Males 26-45 = 1 Cornelius (c1760)
- - Females < 16 = 1 Catherine (c1791)
Elizabeth  (1794)
- - Females 16-18 = 4 ?
- - Females 26-45 = 1 Barbara   (1764)

Notes: As can be see from the notes in the table, this record presents some problems, particularly with the number and ages of the females. We don't have an accurate record of the birth dates of the daughters. It is reported that Christine and Louisa were born in Tennessee after 1800. Catherine could well be over 16 in 1800. That leaves three females 16-18 unknown. Obviously they can't all be daughters of Cornelius and Barbara.

Peter Shuman was executed for High Treason in a Frederick County Court in Frederick Towne in 1781; his land was then confiscated and all his personal property as well, leaving his widow and eleven children defenseless and penniless. The family was forced to move in with friends until such time as they were able to protest to the court in a petition to recover the real estate of Peter Suman/Shuman. In Nov 1796, Chapter 15, a Special Act of General Assembly of Maryland provided his real estate should go to his rightful heirs.

Land - part "Bloomsberry", 71 1/2 acres by Joseph, John & Andrew Rench; part "Goosebill", 75 3/4 acres; part "Sly's Discovery", 8 acres by John Sheneck. During this period, Samuel & Eleanor Buzzard purchased the interests from Eleanor's brothers: Aaron, Jacob, John and Peter. Sale was held and the highest bidder was John Miller @ $79/acre, 148 3/4 acres totaling $12,541.25; however, the rights were transferred to Samuel Buzzard. Each 1/11 part was $1,094.53 10/11.

Notes: This is generally assumed to be Cornelius Acord and has been accepted as such by the DAR though there is a problem with the age. 37 is not reasonable for any pensioner in 1835 so this must be a transcription error. The original may have been 73. We know from his 1822 pension affidavit that he was 61 in Jan 1822. That puts his birth date at c1760/61.

Page 195, Luvisa Ackard to George W. Campbell  Lic. 24 Mar 1849  Sol: 24 Mar 1849

Notes: This confirms the marriage date listed in her 1850 death notice in the Southern Advocate newspaper. This means that the Campbell child living in David Acord's house is not Luvisa's child. George may have been previously married. A George Campbell is listed in the 1840 Madison County census with a wife (20-30) and several children. But we know that there were two George W. Campbells in Madison County at the time (both are in the 1850 census).
